What Are the Pokemon Game Boy Games?

January 26th, 2011

The Pokemon Game Boy games are well-suited for people that enjoy playing role playing games. Nintendo is the manufacturer of the game and they first released it in Japan and then worldwide.

In these games, the player gets to go on adventures. The character that is playable is a young boy and the player can view the character from an overhead perspective. In the game, there are three basic screens players will see. One is a field map. This screen is for navigation purposes for the character. The second screen is the battle screen. This one is for viewing the Pokemon battles that players will engage in. The third is a menu where players can configure game play settings.

When the game begins, a player starts out with one Pokemon. Over the course of the game, they will be able to collect more along the way. They are able to do this by encountering them, battling them, and then throwing a Pokeball at them. If they stay inside the Pokeball after it is used, the player has successfully captured and added it to their team of Pokemon and it can be used for battles.

When a player battles another character, they must choose a Pokemon to use in the battle. They must weaken the other Pokemon by reducing their hit points to zero. When a player wins a battle, the Pokemon they used will gain experience points. Experience points make Pokemon stronger and able to make their hits more effective. Pokemon that win more battles can level up and evolve because of their raised experienced points. If a player encounters a character that wants to battle, but they do not, they have the option to flee. During battles, items can also be used.

If a player engages in a battle and loses, meaning their Pokemon had their hit points reduced to zero, that Pokemon has to be revived. The only way to revive one so it can battle again in the future is to take it to a Pokemon Center, which is like a hospital for Pokemon. There, they will be revived instantly. Some items can also revive a Pokemon, but only during a battle and not after a loss.

A new feature added to these games is that not only the character can be viewed, but also their first Pokemon, which will follow them. Also, the character can converse with the Pokemon. The Pokemon can also pick up items.

Some of these games come equipped with accessories. Some contain a a wi-fi connector so players can download extra content. Some come with a Pokewalker for increased portability.

All in all, the Pokemon Game Boy games are, in my opinion, the best you can get for Game Boy. Do yourself a favor and give the series a try if you haven’t tried it yet.

Indoor and Outdoor Birthday Party Games

January 26th, 2011

Birthdays are very important to children, and parents love to see their kids smile when they are surrounded by friends and family and are having a good time. Planning a birthday party can be a difficult process and getting the party games right can be one of the most difficult aspects of the whole party. Here are some suggestions for having great party games both indoors and out.

Indoor

Some birthday parties will almost always require that they be played inside. This is particularly true of winter birthdays. Just because you can’t go outside to play doesn’t mean that you can’t still have a great time and do lots of fun things inside too. Depending on the age of the child, there are many different games that can be played inside for a birthday party. For younger children, something like a bean bag toss or similar game can be a great game to play inside. It will still require some space, but most homes are able to accommodate enough space to play a game like this. For a little older crowd, you could have them all sit down and make some kind of craft or project at the table. This will probably be more popular with girls and they will want to take the extra time to make their craft perfect in every way.

For older children and even teenagers, you can have them play something like the telephone game. This is basically when the whole group of people sit in a circle to try and pass on a message without it getting all jumbled before it gets to the last person. Almost inevitably, the original message is messed up, even with only a few people in and can get very funny, especially with a large group of people. There are also many other games that can be played while sitting in a circle around a table or on the floor. Spin the bottle is one that may not be encouraged by most people, but an approved variation could still be fun for your kid and their friends.

Outdoor

Outdoor games can be very exciting and a lot of fun for everyone involved. But outdoor games really only work well if the weather is nice and isn’t going to interfere with the game itself. Tag is a classic outdoor game and there are so many variations on the theme that the possibilities are almost endless. Freeze tag for younger children is fun and toilet tag for older kids can also be fun and challenging. Tag is the type of game that will either degenerate into just running around and screaming or children will get bored because there isn’t enough happening. Be prepared for either situation and be ready to do something else and new quickly so that your party will stay on track.

Water balloon volleyball is a great game that can be played by older children and teenagers. The game will require a volleyball net or something similar to be set up in the yard. You’ll also need a large sheet for each team participating and a lot of water balloons. Depending on the group of kids and how long the party is, you may also want to have them bring swimming suits if and when the game devolves into a water fight.

Whether you are going to have a birthday party outside, inside or a combination of both, make sure that you have enough options to keep everyone entertained and that they will have a great time no matter how many games actually end up getting played. A little creativity and some careful planning will go a long way when you are planning your next birthday party.

Game Boy Advance and Its Predecessors

January 25th, 2011

As the recognition of the NES grew, the occasion was suitable to bring in gaming systems that were still more portable. To take the thought further, the idea of Nintendo Game Boy was initiated in 1970 which was however, not released until 1989. The creators of the console preferred to launch a console, which was not only amply handy, but at the same moment, economic and tough. Thus sturdiness, economy and portability were the three key targets before the creators of the GB console.

Although it has an 8-bit processor the Nintendo
